In contrast to "Behind the Meter," the concept of "In Front of The Meter" refers to energy activities on the utility side of the grid. This involves large-scale energy generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure managed by utility companies to meet diverse consumer energy demands.

The energy produced by your green energy project is injected into the grid and sold to an off taker through a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). A PPA is an agreement between a (green) electricity producer and an off taker, outlining details like the amount of electricity supplied, negotiated pricing, required accounting, and contractual terms. Typically lasting ten, fifteen, or twenty years, a PPA mitigates risks associated with electricity market fluctuations, especially for significant, debt-financed projects.
